HON Code of Conduct seal of approval
Baromedical Research Foundation website awarded the Health On the Net (HON) "Code of Conduct" seal of approval.
The Health on the Net Foundation Code of Conduct (HONcode) was launched in early 1996 in order to address the reliability and credibility of healthcare information on the Internet.
In the absence of a common legal framework for the provision of healthcare information on the Internet and the uncertain quality of medical advice provided thereon, the HONcode proposes benchmarks to address issues such as the authority of the information provided, data confidentiality and privacy, proper attribution of sources, transparency of financial sponsorship and the importance of clearly separating advertising from editorial content.
The Baromedical Research Foundation website is proud to support the HON Foundation’s initiative to improve the quality of the medical information on the Internet, and is honored to be awarded their seal of approval.
